Students are no longer assigned lockers. It is recommended for students to keep in their backpack a smaller quantity of supplies (pencils, pens, paper, etc.) and refill each quarter or as needed from extra supplies at home. Hallway lockers are available on request. If a student would like to request a locker, they may request one in the front office with Assistant Principal Brandon Mellen.
Benefits of no lockers and things to consider before requesting a locker:
- Students will have their personal items with them during the day.
- Passing periods are only four minutes long.
- Textbooks are not checked out, but are accessed on student laptops.
- Everything a student needs will be in their backpack, meaning there are fewer misplaced items.
- Students have more face-to-face time with teachers because they are not leaving class to go check their locker for an item.
- Less congestion and student discipline in the halls during the passing periods.
- No locker combinations to memorize.
- The halls are cleaner and quieter, making it an overall better learning environment.
